SIRC has just had the first two classes of the autumn season. We enjoy seeing our weekly practice sessions on SIRC’s facebook and instagram pages, which have been made by the volunteer parents of the ‘PR Committee’ from each class.
Thanks to the hard work of the PR committee members, SIRC’s SNS is very enjoyable and always transmits information about SIRC activities. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the PR committee members.
On 8 September, Shunsuke Nunomaki from the Saitama Panasonic Wild Knights coached three classes. This was made possible by one of the Junior Samurai parents Naotaka Kawamura.
The 2024 National Junior High School Rugby Football Tournament will be held in Mito City from tomorrow (Saturday 14 September) to Monday 16 September (national holiday). This is a tournament of eight junior high schools that have won the national qualifying rounds, and a total of two SIRC members and one alumnus will be participating in this tournament.
One is Taihei Yamada from Chitose Junior High School in Setagaya Ward (currently sub-registered with Shogun) and the other is former Samurai member Jin Asahi from Meikei Gakuen Junior High School. The matches will also be broadcast live on the Japan Rugby Football Union’s YouTube channel below. Let’s look forward to seeing them both in action.

The day after tomorrow, on Sunday 15 September, the rugby match between Japan and Samoa will be played at Chichibunomiya Rugby Ground. We have received 265 invitation tickets thanks to two SIRC parents through their work relationships. We are looking forward to supporting the Japanese team together in the stands.
Now, it is almost a year since the Azabudai Class opened last October. We currently run a U4-6 class as well as U7-8class on Sunday mornings, and we have a very international group of members.
On 28 September (Sat), we will be holding a get-together and wedding party for the two couples from the coaches of the Azabudai class who recently married.
They are Ryohta Hoshino and Michaela, and Masakatsu Jo and Mizuho.
We will have a special guest, His Excellency Michael Rendi, the Ambassador of Austria who was also a former captain of the Austrian national rugby team. The Ambassador Rendi has recently moved to Tokyo and his daughter has joined Shogun.
The party will be held at the French restaurant Petit Tonneau in Toranomon at 1 pm on Saturday 28 September.
