We are delighted to announce our recent partnership with the historic Richmond Rugby Minis & Junior sectio. The aim behind the partnership is to foster close relationships and friendship between the two clubs so that the players, staff and local communities can make the most of the opportunities presented in the lead up to the Rugby World Cup 2019. The partnership will also extend to encouraging players to join training sessions and games at the other club, fostering cross-cultural communication and promoting grassroots rugby both in Tokyo and London.

There is all round excitement towards this initiative, with Jimmy Wallace, Commercial Director for Richmond Rugby commenting “We are delighted to create this unique partnership with SIRC ahead of the RWC 2019 (and) we hope that some of our members heading to Japan for the tournament will find time to visit (SIRC) and enjoy their hospitality”. This was supported by Koji Tokumasu, founder and President of SIRC, who added “It is a massive boost for a young club like ours to form a partnership with such a historic and established one as Richmond. We are looking forward to a productive interaction between the clubs and to learning a lot”.
Note: SIRC is also excited to announce that we are a nominee for this year’s Rhino Grass Roots Rugby Award, the winner of which will be announced in December. Rhino is a longstanding sponsor of Richmond Rugby and were integral to the partnership established between our two clubs.
